Help with HTML text codes?

Alright, I'm trying to upload a fanfic on DeviantArt.com, but I have to upload it as text. The story is full of italics and bold words, etc. The site requires the use of HTML text codes. I know the italic codes and the bold code , so is there a code for just normal type? Because every time I edit, the entire doent changes.
